Per(i)fusion of culture medium is necessary for optimal differentiation in vitro: |
Optimal differentiation of cells cannot be obtained in the stagnant environment within a culture dish. This fact was the reason to integrate the tissue carriers in a per(i)fusion system. The carriers are placed into new containers, which allow permanent per(i)fusion of medium. The system is used with a peristaltic pump and a thermo plate and does not depend on a CO2 - incubator. To maintain a constant pH HEPES or Buffer All (Sigma) are added to the media. Alternatively Leibovitz or other CO2-independent media can be used. Cells or tissues can be cultured for months without subculturing in a quality not observed before. See proceedings. |

What is necessary for a per(i)fusion culture experiment? |
Additional equipment required: A peristaltic pump, for example Type IPC-N8 from ISMATEC. A thermo plate, for example Type ME 12501 from MEDAX Nagel. A complete set including IPC-N8 pump, thermo plate, cover lid and precision thermometer is available through our company (Nr. 0007). |
