For the simmultaneous culture of several epithelia in their organo-typical environment under in vitro conditions, a gradient container holding six tissue carriers was constructed. The container offers two independent medium pathways for three epithelia each. This way three epithelia could be per(i)fused with one combination of apical and basal medium for control, while the other three could be per(i)fused with a different medium combination for an experimental treatment. By per(i)fusing the epithelia with individual media on the apical and basal sides optimal differentiation can be obtained.  See proceedings.
