The newly constructed container allows to perform several kinds of experiments.

It is possible to place up to 6 tissue carriers inside the container.

It is possible to fill the culture container with an artificial interstitium consisting of highly porous biocompatible material that decreases fluid pressure and distributes pressure more evenly across the growing tissue by capillary effects. This material will provide mechanical protection to the tissue and minimizes the dead space within the culture container. Good results are f.e. obtained with a fleece made of polyester.  See proceedings.
