In per(i)fusion culture experiments always fresh media are offered to the tissues. To connect store bottle, culture container and waste bottle specific screw caps, tubes and fittings (Nr. 1306) are necessary. We offer a new type of screw cap (Nr. 0004), which fits on 500 ml SCHOTT DURAN glas bottles with 45 mm DIN threads.

Screw cap innovative

The newly developed screw cap contains 2 ports. The first port is for an air filter, the second contains a silicone tube with 3 mm outer and 1 mm inner diameter. The advantage is that the pumped medium is only in contact with the silicone tube and not with screw cap material. It minimizes the arise of air bubbles in media, tubes and culture containers. The screw cap can be used in all kinds of per(i)fusion culture experiments. The use of these caps is of special importance, when gradient culture containers are used, the arise of air bubbles and pressure differences in the luminal and basal compartments have to be prevented.
